Below is an overview of the security risks along the planned Trans-Afghan railway route. To illustrate where the threat is most acute and which groups are active, below is a map and a table of the terrorist groups that are the biggest threat to potential attacks, looting or other attacks that a railway like this could face. This can change and there are different scenarious where the threat levels can change. This is based on the current snapshot of geopolitics. As with all threat assessments, these are not predictions of the future.
